Standard 401 Certified Products
Popular Multipure drinking water systems such as the Aqualuxe, Aquaperform, and Aquaversa have a variety of certifications that let you know our water filters reduce contaminants to give you some of the purest, cleanest water possible, filtering out a wide range of contaminants to provide you and your family with better drinking water. These certifications include NSF 401 which helps demonstrate that your filtered drinking water is safer and healthier.
NSF has developed many of the most important standards for water treatment products, including NSF 42 (Aesthetic Effects), NSF 53 (Health Effects), NSF 401 (Emerging Compounds/Incidental Contaminants), and NSF P231 (Microbiological Purifier). The NSF/ANSI 401 water filter certification is for "Incidental Contaminants and Emerging Compounds." Multipure products are NSF certified to filter and reduce drinking water contaminants known to potentially cause negative health effects. However, many contaminant compounds may occur in unfiltered drinking water whose health effects are not yet fully known.
Incidental contaminants and emerging compounds may exist in your drinking water, but the concentration is low enough that they are not officially considered a health concern. At Multipure, we prefer that your drinking water be as free of any potentially harmful contaminants as possible, which is why we take great pride in our NSF 401 certification.
What the NSF Standard 401 certification means is the NSF Public Safety and Health Organization has verified that our filters are certified to meet their high standards for emerging compound and incidental contaminant reduction. This verification is the result of stringent, rigorous, and consistent testing of our facilities and products by experts from NSF
Our NSF Standard 401 water filter systems have been certified and verified for reduction of the compounds atenolol, bisphenol A, carbamazepine, DEET, estrone, ibuprofen, linuron, meprobamate, metolachlor, naproxen, nonylphenol, phenytoin, TECP, TCPP, and trimethoprim.
If you are not familiar with NSF, you may wonder how you can rely on them to accurately certify our filters. An examination of the history of the NSF will show you that they are one of the most respected organizations in the world when it comes to food and beverage quality control.
NSF is an accredited third-party organization that is independent of any food and beverage company. They have been certifying products since 1944 and have successfully certified millions of products. Their reputation is trusted from local regulatory bodies all the way to federal and even international regulatory agencies.
Multipure offers a selection of exceptional water filtration systems, replacement filters, and even whole house water filters to meet your contaminant reduction needs, whether a specific contaminant or a wide range of contaminants. We want you to feel completely confident in the effectiveness of our products to protect your drinking water. We take pride in our NSF Standard 401 certification and our other NSF certified water filters, and are more than happy to discuss them with you in more detail.
