The furious winds, torrential rains, and unbridled devastation of hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria. The upheaval and terror of earthquakes in Mexico. The heat, smoke, and ash of wildfires across the West. These events are synonymous with shattered homes, broken streets, and collapsed infrastructure. These events emphasize the terrible and destructive power of nature.

The past few months have shown us just how badly natural disasters can affect people’s homes and lives. Images of destruction make us aware that one of the first – and most crucial – resource casualties is that of clean, safe drinking water. Especially in the case of the aforementioned hurricanes, the storms that flooded the streets with seemingly endless rain had the ironic side effect of polluting and contaminating clean water supplies, due to destroyed pipes, overflowing reservoirs, and debris and sewage mixed in with the water.

In response to Hurricane Maria in particular, Multipure’s Pure Foundation recently provided direct assistance to Puerto Rico, sending a team to deploy portable water purification systems to areas needing access to safe water. Details of this trip follow in this newsletter.

We have been reminded just how fragile and precious our water supplies are, and just how crucial it is for families to have contingencies in place to protect this essential resource. While some find solace in plastic bottled water, we must remember that it is at best a short-term solution – bottled water is finite, it is bulky, and it is expensive. And given a recent study that found that over 94 percent of US tap water is contaminated with plastic fibers*, it is itself a contributor to drinking water pollution.

The fact is that for many people, the quality and safety of their drinking water is taken for granted. Recent natural disasters have shown the danger of that assumption. And often ongoing crises – in Flint, Michigan, in North Carolina, and in Virginia in just the past few years – have highlighted the vulnerability of our water supplies.

This is why it is so important for you to educate and enlighten people on the necessity of clean drinking water. This is why now is the perfect time to let people know how easy it can be to safeguard their drinking water against unforeseen disasters or water emergencies. And this is why we started our fall promotion in the middle of September, because our Water Safety Special allows people to protect their drinking water with a Multipure Drinking Water System and a free WET System. Because when disaster strikes, clean, safe drinking water becomes a precious commodity.

Remember, just by talking to people about Multipure, and explaining the importance of cleaner, healthier drinking water, you are helping to Make a Difference.

Dedicated to Your Success,
