Telephone etiquette, how basic, how essential! I always try to answer the phone before it goes to voicemail when possible, answer professionally, listen carefully, make sure I get contact info. Dedicated line is important. I am interested in learning how folks get best use out of 3 way calling. Try to answer calls within 24 hours–the sooner the better because these days your prospects may just move on to someone else who does answer their phones.
More and more, some callers are more comfortable using email. Others are hard to call back since they are so busy. One idea is on your voice mail message, ask them to leave their phone number AND email address so you can respond quickly. Sometimes I put my email address on the voice mail message so they can just shoot me their question, comment or order via email.
