Check this one out for your summer read Summer has officially started, so have I got a good book for you to read by the pool in the next few months...
Have you heard of "The Blue Death"? While most people don't race out to purchase heath books, this medical history book written by Robert Morris MD, PhD, reads more like a mystery novel and is a real page-turner.
The author specializes in drinking water epidemiology and raises the alarm about hidden perils in our tap water. He says "Most chemicals are not regulated. Only 91 contaminants are regulated by the Safe Drinking Water Act, but there are more than 60,000 chemicals produced in the US, many of which appear in water supplies at low levels - and some of which may cause cancer after 10 to 20 years of regular consumption."
In some instances, laws are sufficient, but they have been ignored: more than 20 percent of the nation’s water treatment systems have violated key provisions of the Safe Drinking Water Act over the last five years, according to an analysis of federal data by The New York Times. And the other major water law — the Clean Water Act — has been violated more than half a million times, though few polluters were ever punished.
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed a new permit requirement that would decrease the amount of pesticides discharged to the nation’s waters, according to a press release sent out today.
This action is in response to an April 9, 2009 court decision that found that pesticide discharges to US waters were pollutants, thus requiring a permit, the release stated.
“EPA believes this draft permit strikes a balance between using pesticides to control pests and protecting human health and water quality,” said Peter S. Silva, assistant administrator for EPA’s Office of Water.

Wear one of these and the conversations will flow! I recently received a letter from Will & Gemma McCoy, two of our six figure income-earning distributors here at Multi-Pure and I wanted to share what they had to say!
------------------------------------------------
Have you noticed lately how the "No bottled water" campaign seems to be everywhere? ... in movies (Flow and Tapped), in articles, in conversation.
Around 20 years ago, Multi-Pure introduced this button as a Multi-Pure Sales Aid .... Twenty Years Ago!!! Today, this bottle with a slash through it is becoming a recognizable symbol. What does this mean to us as MP distributors? Time to bring back the button!! If you've tucked this timely Sales Aid away, or if you've always been just a little too shy to wear it, it's seriously time to bring it out with pride! It's now an ultra hip symbol to wear out in public, showing others that you're environmentally aware and that you care AND.......
just imagine the abundant Multi-Pure possibilities ...
They say: "hey, is THAT a 'no bottled water button' you're wearing?...how cooooool!!!!!"
You say: "Yeah, been off the bottle for a long time. Hahahahah..... How bout you? What kind of water have you been drinking these days?" (wink)
And the conversation begins easily and naturally without too much effort!
Multi-Pure's "Formula for Success" has always been Talk to People, Talk to People, Talk to People. Let this button help connect you with folks who genuinely want to make a difference. Connect with those who will get very excited when they hear about Multi-Pure's triple benefits ... benefitting the health of the planet, the health of their bodies, and even the health of their finances, as an MP distributor!
That is Health to the 3rd power!!!!
Wear this badge of coolness out in public and let it make you some money and enjoy the many extra interactions that may not have occurred without the button......it's a low cost way to expand your biz!!!
With appreciative enthusiasm,

Have a very memorable Memorial Day this year! Multi-Pure will be closed on Memorial Day, May 31, so that our employees can be with their families and honor the memory of our fallen soldiers and their sacrifices to this country.
For most Americans, Memorial Day is a chance to sleep in and get the day off of work or school. If you have children, it’s a terrific opportunity to teach them about our country, respect, honor, reverence, history, and more.
Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day set aside for remembrance of those who have died in our nation’s service. Memorial Day was first proclaimed on 5 May 1868 when flowers were placed on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers. The South, at first, refused to acknowledge Memorial Day, honoring their dead on separate days until after WWI. It is now observed in almost every state of the union on the last Monday of every May. Since the Civil War more than 1.1 million veterans, both women and men, have lost their lives in military service to America.
With four sons in my family, we’ve created a fun tradition with our Cub Scout pack where we place flags on the tombstones of fallen soldiers and then we present a special wreath at the cemetery’s ceremony on Memorial Day. The boys really get a kick out of reading the tombstones and imagining what the soldiers would have looked like. The parents go crazy with their cameras, taking incredibly patriotic photos of their own sons in uniform who are paying respect.
Memorial Day reminds us of our duties towards the wounded soldiers and the bereaved families, orphans and widows of the dead soldiers. In addition to the fun BBQ's and recreational activities this weekend, we should take a few minutes to show our gratitude to those who were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice. Here are a few ways you can honor their memory this year:
Placing flags, garlands or flowers on the grave sites.
Visiting cemeteries and memorials.
Furling the American Flag at half-mast until noon.

You can SEE why purchasing a Multi-Pure filter is clearly the best decision! We just received an amazing letter today from one of our terrific distributors, Mark Smith. He lives in Asheville, North Carolina with his wife Jennifer and their son Ivan. He has been a distributor since 1991 and has this incredible message to share with all of us:
Good afternoon,
Today some nearby construction broke through a water main and I just wanted to show you the difference Multi-Pure is making. It's really a stunning difference. We're so glad we have one! I want to add that this water was filtered through my 19-year-old Model 500!
Thanks,
Best Regards,
Mark Smith
President, EstiMate Software Corp.
Mark, thank you for sending this! The choice is pretty CLEAR. Multi-Pure has the most loyal customers and fan base! Why? Because our drinking water systems really are the best!
Keep those great letters and pictures coming! Please send them to editor@multipure.com Thanks!

Multi-Pure's EF8 water filter Multi-Pure's awesome Emergency Preparedness kit President Obama recently designated this week (May 23-29, 2010), as National Hurricane Preparedness Week, and called upon all Americans, especially those in hurricane prone areas, to learn more about protecting themselves against hurricanes and to work together to respond to them.
The Presidential Proclamation is available at http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/presidential-proclamation-nat...
"We never know where the next hurricane or disaster will strike, but we know that the more we do to prepare now, the better the outcome will be," said FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate. "FEMA will continue to work with our private sector, local, state, tribal and federal partners to ensure that we are prepared, but it is also important that all Americans take the necessary steps now- like developing a family disaster plan - before a hurricane or disaster strikes."
Multi-Pure's emergency backpack is an incredible value, especially because it includes 2 of our emergency water filters, the EF8! Whether it's a hurricane or some other kind of emergency, these kits will help you and your loved ones survive until more help can arrive.
FEMA suggests that important items to have ready in case of an emergency include a battery-powered radio (like the one in Multi-Pure's kit), flashlight, extra batteries, medicines, non-perishable food, hand-operated can opener, utility knife and first aid supplies.
Copy and store your important documents in a waterproof bag. These may include medical records, contracts, property deeds, leases, banking records, insurance records and birth certificates.
This is the time to consider potential needs of everyone in the household during an emergency. If your household includes a person with a disability, special steps to assist them may be necessary and should be considered now.

LOST may have ended, but Multi-Pure is still going strong after 40 years! Are you like me and you stayed up til 11:30 pm last night to watch the season finale of LOST?
Wow, that was quite a 6 year journey. Seasons 1 & 2 were extremely exciting and my family became quickly addicted. Around seasons 3 & 4 we felt the writers had become LOST. I just about gave up on them, but then things started to pick up again and I figured since I had already invested so much time in the doggone show that I'd stick it out til the end.
As far as season finales go, I thought the writers did a pretty good job bringing back the ensemble cast and peppering the dialogue with sentimental phrases from former episodes, creating double meanings. I love that. There were several "tissue" moments that made you almost forget the plot didn't make sense. Still, there were some members of the cast who never did make an appearance in the end and more than a few story lines that didn't quite have clear explanations. The finale has already sparked online debates, praise and complaints, leaving some viewers satisfied and others frustrated.
So what does all of this LOST talk have to do with Multi-Pure? Well, I thought of a few similarities and differences...
1. The protectors of the island had to drink a special kind of water. Multi-Pure's water is very special! If you drink it, "you are now like me." While it won't grant you eternal life, it can definitely improve the quality of your health and protect our environment.
2. The island is surrounded by water. You are surrounded by water too, and need it to survive.
3. While the writers of LOST may have become a little LOST themselves, Multi-Pure has continued to be an industry leader for 40 years! Our mission is clear and you will never be disappointed.
Bring on the finale of Dancing With the Stars tonight...hmmm, I guess I need to start working on comparisons between sequins and carbon block filters now...

How much money do you spend a year on clean, filtered water? If you're buying bottled water at the grocery store, you're paying about $1600/year! Most people see those big cases of bottled water for sale for around $3.99 and think that's a great bargain. If they actually took the time to calculate it out, they'd realize they're paying between $5 - $15 per gallon! People complain about the price of gas for their car, but don't think twice about how they're overpaying up to 500% of the cost of tap water!
If you're using a Multi-Pure drinking water system, you're only paying $59.95 a year...the price of the annual replacement cartridge! You'll save money with Multi-Pure, not to mention the fact that you'll also be drinking better, cleaner water and keeping all of those plastic bottles out of the landfills!
I wanted to share a testimonial today from one of our many satisfied customers who came to the same conclusion:
"I have used my Multi-Pure water filter system for nearly 15 years, and I don't know what I would do without it. We all know the benefits of drinking plenty of water and staying hydrated. If you're thinking about purchasing a water filtration system, you should definitely choose Multi-Pure. Honestly, it's one of the best investments I've ever made."
David Pozza, Ph.D. , Pennsylvania
If you do the math, you'll always choose a Multi-Pure!
Our biggest bargain is our "Filtermania" promotion that allows you to purchase 10 years' worth of filters in advance ($599.95) and you get a FREE drinking water system (valued at $399.95)! Call us or talk to your local Multi-Pure independent distributor for more details!
