Multi-Pure Races To Cure Cancer

More Team Members The Day Before the Race

Despite all of the donuts that grace our corporate headquarters each week on "Casual Friday", Multi-Pure put together a team to participate in the "Race For The Cure" Breast Cancer event here in Las Vegas last Saturday.

The weathermen threatened rain, but the day turned out to be absolutely gorgeous and we were determined to show support to two of our very own cancer survivors in our company: Lorinda Long and Joanne Guerin. Both sweet ladies work in our Customer Service Department and you may have even talked with them on the phone if you've ever called Multi-Pure!

Joanne linked arms with another survivor and power-walked the course, while others ran and some of us crawled. Although Lorinda is still recovering from a recent surgery, she came to cheer us on from the sidelines!

One in eight women will be stricken with breast cancer in her lifetime. The Komen Southern Nevada Race for the Cure® raises money to fund education, screening and treatment programs for these women and thousands of others in our own community and supports the national search for a cure.

The Komen Race for the Cure® Series is the largest series of 5K run/ walks in the world. Since its origination in Dallas in 1983, the Komen Race for the Cure® Series has grown from one local race with 800 participants to an international series of 117 races with more than 1.3 million participants.

Did you notice the cute pink ribbons on our Multi-Pure shirts? They have become the symbol for breast cancer awareness around the world. Of course, we all know that drinking clean water can improve overall health, so keep using your Multi-Pure drinking water system!
